Olhausen - Will Play Pool for Food

March 14th, 2008 by poolcuereview

How bad is it in the billiards industry? It looks like Olhausen Billiards is so hard up for cash that they just took out a $4.5 million revolver to help refinance existing debt. Terms were not disclosed and the company may be trying to put a positive spin on this, but knowing how much the industry is hurting, you can read between the lines about how much of this will be used to stay afloat rather than to “grow the business”. You can read the article on Yahoo’s business report.

Wow! This is an awesome way to support the American Way….Kudos to Olhausen for remaining an American Made Product and making one of the guttsiest moves this industry has made in a very long time!!! Moving 2100 miles, building a 250,000 square foot state of the art building, and moving 65 families cross country, expenses paid; in order to maintain their US Manufacturing status is more guts than any other competitor has in this industry. We Support the Troops, how about supporting the US Made Products that built this country…No selling out to over seas…Negativity creates more negativity…shame on you for taking a positive move to keep on growing to such a low level of reaction…It must be a competitor that doesn’t know how else to keep their head above water….take your negativity somewhere else and stop belitteling an industry that is attempting to hold onto one of the BEST Dealer Networks in the country…

Hey, I like Olhausen tables. They’re mega-swish, but that doesn’t change the fact that they and the rest of the industry have some serious problems.

Wonderful reporting of a press release from a proud bank who wants the world to know they are now representing Olhausen and a very poor attempt at twisting a simple financial transaction and implying that it means bad news. Perhaps more productive use of your time would be to point out that Olhausen has revised it’s commerical offerings with an overwhelming success at the recent Bar and Restaurant show; has just signed Dave Pearson to be a company spokesperson, or that Olhausen has recently renewed it’s relatinship with a United States wood working shop to assist in carving its legs and decorative parts.

You are wise to ignore that all of the major manufacturers including Brunswick have turned tail and left the country in favor of cheap offshore production. Hopefully the tax rebate will not be spent on shoring up the Chineese, Vietnamese or Korean economy by buying imported products and will spend it on true American products.

Clearly, accuracy in reporting is not on your list of priorities, and if you have questions, by all means do not call Olhausen or Bridge for a comment. Remember Olhausen is unquestionalby the Best in Billiards.
